Bolton versus Floriana Preview

Bolton Wanderers go into the final game of their Malta tour tonight knowing that a win against Floriana would make them the 2003 winners of the Floriana Cup, however they must do without influential Frenchman Youri Djorkaeff and young defender Nicky Hunt who both picked up injuries in the opening fixture of the tour against Birkirkara on Tuesday night.

Stelios Giannakopoulos however will be back in contention having recovered from a virus which kept him out of the win over Birkirkara. Ricardo Gardner and Jermaine Johnson won't feature having not travelled with the rest of the squad due to international commitments. Ibrahim Ba will get a second chance to impress after his competent display as a substitute in Tuesday's game and a decision is expected by Sam Allardyce as to whether or not to keep the former World Cup winner for a longer spell by the end of the week.

Floriana will tonight bid farewell to long serving defender Dennis Cauchi who has decided to retire and move into coaching, they will use the game as a benefit for the veteran centre half who has been a professional for nearly 22 years. Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Roger Walker will guest star for the Greens having been given permission by his club Marsaxlokk to play. Nigerian striker Chika Onyekaba may also get another run out for Floriana having impressed in the opening game of the tournament which was a 1-1 draw between Birkirkara and the Greens. An unnamed Brazilian is set to fly into Malta for tonights game where he will also undertake a trial period.
