Tonight Bolton face their fifth friendly of the pre-season programme when they take on Birkirkara in the triangular tournament which also features Floriana FC and is being held at the ground of Hibernians FC (Malta).

The Trotters have been in fine form over pre-season claiming three wins in their last four matches and they take a strong squad to the Meditteranian island to take on their Maltese counterparts.

Top stars such as Jay-Jay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff will once again be hoping to get games under their belt for pre-season whilst Ivan Campo, now a fully fledged Wanderer, will be hoping to feature having missed the Antwerp and Halifax games due to some formalities which needed sorting out in Madrid.

Trialists Ibrahim Ba, a midfielder formerly with AC Milan and Vergara Unai, a defender with Villareal have impressed during their trial stint with the club but are unable to play in competitive matches whilst the tournament takes place.

Birkirkara will also be using the game to check out potential new recruits as Harunda Doda, Yves Nsengyunva and youth players John Eboh, Ian Borg and Thomas Paris are on trial with the UEFA Cup participants whilst other trialists Jonathan Fenech and Jonathan Zammit will be unavailable for selection.
