The experienced defender who has been in fine form in the centre of defence alongside Emerson Thome is the second player this week to declare his fitness for the game after Frenchman Youri Djorkaeff who returned from recuparation in France to begin training for the weekend clash at the City of Manchester Stadium.

The club are still no further in negotiations for Belgian defender Phillippe Leonard so the side to take on City is expected to be not to disimilar to that which drew with Aston Villa ten days ago.
