Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is tipping star midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha to score goals and beleives that once the Nigerian star gets off the mark in the Premiership he will go on a goalscoring run.

Surprisingly the much coveted Bolton captain has failed to score for the Wanderers in the Premiership this season despite having three Carling Cup goals to his credit and Allardyce beleives it is only a matter of time before the 30-year old breaks his goalscoring duck having seen the player denied three times at the weekend by Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Ambrosio.

"I can't understand why this guy hasn't got a Premiership goal this year.

"He should have put his easiest chance away late on. I'd like him to get off the mark because a few more goals often follow."
